Our Founder's story

Feet on the Street Ministries was born from a profound personal journey of redemption and purpose. Pastor Maurice Lattimore intimately understands the struggles many face. After battling 30 years of drug use, repetitive incarceration, and homelessness, Pastor Lattimore found himself in a housing shelter in 2008. With nowhere left to turn and all bridges burned, he cried out to God, asking, "How can I be more constructive where in my past life I was so destructive?"

The answer arrived with powerful clarity, and a mobile shower ministry was born. Pastor Lattimore vividly remembered the feeling of being unhoused and desperate for a way to get clean. He knew that a simple hot shower could be life-changing, offering a crucial step in restoring dignity and self-esteem. Providing this comfort became his calling.

Today, Pastor Maurice, a dedicated community advocate and servant leader, sees his work as the greatest privilege God could have given him: transforming his pain into powerful purpose by giving back to those who walk where he once did. What began as a vision to bring hygiene and dignity to those in need has blossomed into a thriving community outreach. Beyond just showers, we provide essential services like food, clothing, and vital resources, alongside spiritual empowerment. One of his greatest joys is connecting with the community, sharing laughter, listening to their stories, and ensuring they know they are never alone.
